The city that sleeps

For a city as crowded, fast-paced and intense as London, early mornings are almost eerily quiet and still.

I love being up at this time of the day, cycling to the café along near empty streets, hearing sounds other than sirens and buses, watching the city slowly come to life as it prepares for the thousands of workers, shoppers and tourists who pour into it each day.

The most glorious morning is Sunday - when the city wakes without me.

Hi

I visited your cafe on saturday at lunchtime - you squeezed me into the little table in the corner due to the watery problem you were experiencing - hope that's better now!

Just wanted to say thanks for an absolutely delicious lunch - corn fritters with bacon. I really loved it and will definitely be back!

Also love that you're blogging as you go. I've never managed to get into the blogging habit but really love reading blogs of people starting their own businesses. It reflects a passion for what you're doing which is all too rare, especially in London.

Keep it up!

Ian

Thanks Ian. I'm glad your experience wasn't dampened by our storm boy situation. I note with dread that Monday's forecast is for heavy rain...
